Content Management

How do I update or modify an existing page on the website?

First of all, go to the page (on the frontend) that you want to modify and look in the URL Address Bar and find the part where it says id equals number (i.e. id=20). Please remember this id number. Now back to the control panel (backend), and go to Content -> All Content Items, and look for the Title with the same id number and just click on it. You should be able to find the id number easily as it is under the ID column. If you still cannot find the id number please scroll down to the bottom and see if you can go to the next page. You can then use the provided HTML editor to edit the page and finally click Save on the top right.

How do I create a new page and add it to the website?

Go to Content -> All Content Items, click on New (top right), give it a Title (it will be shown on the website), Title Alias can be left blank, choose the Section and Category that you feel it's appropriate, add the contents you want using the provided HTML editor, and click on Save (top right). Please note the Section, Category, and Title of this page.

Now go to Menu -> mainmenu, click on New, bubble in Link - Content Item, click on Next, give it a Name, link to the correct page you created in the above paragraph (the format is Section - Category / Title). If you want this newly created page to be a subcategory or be under a certain category on the left menu of the website, then choose the appropriate Parent Item, otherwise leave it as Top. Finally, click on Save.

How do I publish or unpublish a page or category?

To publish or unpublish a page, go to Content -> All Content Items, and click on the blue icon that is on the same row as the page and under the Publish column. Now you should see a red X there. Go to Content -> All Content Items, and click on the appropriate page that you want to create a link. To create a link to a document file, highlight the appropriate text and then click on chain button (insert/edit link), and for Link URL put "images/stories/filename.ext" (without quotations, filename.ext depends on the file you just uploaded, for example, if you've just uploaded "prices.doc" then the Link URL would be images/stories/prices.doc), or if you just want a link to another page, then simply just put the full URL in it (i.e. http://www.yahoo.com/).
